16TH INTERNATIONAL SAILFISH TOURNAMENT

[sailfish] NOW IN ITS 16TH YEAR, the great Sailfish Hunt, the International Sports Fishing Tournament, is a staple of the Fiestas of November, and it seems to get better and bigger every year.

This year the organizers are baiting the contest with more prizes than ever before and expect a record number of entries. Primarily a sailfish contest, the event also offers prizes for dorado and marlin.

The entry fee remains the same as last year: $8,000.00 pesos per boat, for three fishermen. A combination registration party and official contest meeting will be held at Los Crotos on Thursday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. where all the official rules will be explained. You can sign up there and hire a boat and captain. The competition begins at 7 a.m. on Friday 19 and runs though Sunday 21. All boats must return by 3 p.m. The contest supplies ample entertainment on the main beach for the crowds who await the boats return.
