The area surrounding Paphos was incredibly rich in antiquities. I originally planned to take the collective taxi to from Limassol, but they had just gone on strike, so I took the bus instead, and since it took over 2.5 hours for the 70 km journey, I did not have time to continue my journey to Polis, so I decided to visit the Paphos area instead in the 3.5 hours before I had to return. So in a veritable sprint, I quickly walked around the peninsula, first visiting the Tombs of the Kings, then over to the beach, then over (literally a rock arch) the ancient quarry, and past the lighthouse. I was almost ready to continue straight on, when I meandered over a little hill and noticed an old Roman Amphitheater. It was more or less in prime condition, (big rock blocks last a long time) and had the surreal looking lighthouse behind it.

After I took the photo, I first went over and viewed part of the extensive Roman mosaics, then to the harbour, where I saw the old fort, and back on the local bus to the inter city bus terminal. 3.5 days would be a much better time span to view what I had to rush and see in the 3.5 hours.
