UltraStor is out of business. Driver support for their SCSI host adapters ended in 1993. The specific problem for removables is that the ULTRA14.ADD does not support UN/LOCK_MEDIA commands for removable drives. This causes feature drivers (os2dasd.dmd, lockdrv.flt) to not recognize the drive. Several different fixes are available including making any removable drive appear as another fixed disk. For the EZ135, the full treatment of fixes can be used giving complete removable-drive support. The package includes already-patched drivers and documentation on making your own fixes, if you care/need to go that route. The file name is currently U34_RMB2.ZIP (about 40KB), and can be gotten by lynx from: ftp://ftp.crl.com/users/co/cornel/os2/util/u34_rmb2.zip or by ncftp: ftp.crl.com:users/co/cornel/os2/util/u34_rmb2.zip or off the web: http://www.crl.com/~cornel/ Also available are other OS/2 products to check out such as the Bullet/2 database engine toolkit (blt2_205.zip), the AWACS system performance monitor for dual-display systems (awacs122.zip), and the Mony monochrome/ video BIOS emulator (mony_120.zip). ===================================================================== -- To submit to c.o.os2.announce: POST (or email os2_ann_req@bix.com) -- For comments to the moderator: email lfirrantello@bix.com.
