Lunar Eclipse 2008-02-20 (20080226)

I got a replacement Canon 30D camera body delivered a few weeks ago especially so I could shoot this eclipse. I was extremely fortunate to have all my ducks lined up with nice skies in Puerto Escondido, and my camera setup including a 200 mm lens with 2X Extender, effectively giving a 640 mm view at 3504 pixels, and cropped to 800 pixels square. The only SNAFU was that I somehow ended up saving all the full eclipse shots in RAW, so I now need to (PITA) decode them all. The one shot (2837) which I was able to successfully decode turned out pretty well so I may soon include a few more. The biggest problem when shooting was getting fast shots, as the eclipsed moon was fairly dark, but moving along, so I was shooting at 800 ISO, wide open at 5.6 at under 1 s.
The first few shots were taken just after the moon rose through the coco palms.

This eclipse complements the previous two I shot, including the 2007-08-28 one, and the 2004-10-27 one.

The image times are also all available in the information files, and the eclipse times (CST) were:

19:43 Moon entered Earth's dark umbral shadow
21:01 Totality began
21:26 Mid-eclipse
21:51 Totality ended
23:09 Moon left the umbra
