Panama 2012 (20120621)

I went for a short vacation to Panama in June 2012 to check out the visiting and living potential, as they do not require visas for many countries.

While Panama City was built, building and cosmopolitan beyond all my expectations, the country, as a whole, has rudimentary tourist facilities and is definitely not ready for prime time. There are developed weekend destinations for the Panamanians, who seem to be relatively affluent, but I never found any beach towns at all, nevertheless any funky beach towns which seem to exist in many countries.

Frommer's guide had the only references I could find, but it's all summarised in the first sentence, and all the recommended places I went to were a disappointment. Puerto is 100 times better! {:-)
