I rented a 400 5.6 mm lens for the weekend, to compare it against my 200 mm lens with a 2X Extender.
I did manage to get this shot with a bumble
bee (Bombus) leaving a fireweed flower (Epilobium angustifolium) in Jericho Park
with a 25 mm Extension tube to get in close. I noticed afterwards that the lens was front focusing
a lot, which may be why I got this shot, as I was focusing on the flower, and the bee was in front.
I also strobed the fill flash to freeze the action and enhance the image in the dim late light using
a long lens
