Botswana-1 2011 (20110408)

So, after transferring across the primitive frontier facilities between Zimbabwe and Botswana, I got in the open topped safari jeep waiting for me, and we drove on a holy highway for approximately an hour before we passed by Kasane and entered the Chobe National Park. As soon as we entered the park along a rough dirt road, the previous paucity of animals was replaced by a preponderance of previously unseen pachyderms. Elephants were grazing by the dozens, then I saw giraffes, and finally, a lion resting under a tree almost at the Lodge.

The Chobe Game Lodge was very nice, and I appreciated the comfort and hospitality. Every day, we would leave at 6:30 for a morning drive, and then again at 15:30 for the afternoon and sunset drive. At 10:30, there was also a daily boat tour, which I really enjoyed. The whole experience was incredible.
