Reunion 2011 (20110619)

I spent four days in Reunion in order to get a new Malagasy work visa. I was very impressed with the island, and especially with the living standard. One way I rate civilisations, is by how much security they have or need, and when I saw that the harbour in St. Gilles had absolutely no security or fences whatsoever, I was really impressed. Anyone could walk onto any boat they wanted.

The freeway on the west coast may have been the best road I have ever driven on, it was impeccably smooth.

I stayed in the Boucan Canot, which was a nice hotel right on the beach. The whole St. Gilles neighbourhood is fine resort area, and the food and fish were impressive.
