These were all shot on two days, just before I left Puerto for iglooland. The birds were all shot at laguna de Palmasola near La Barra de Navidad, where I paid a guide for a pole boat tour on the small, yet incredibly prolific lagoon. I have never seen such an abundant density of birds and crocodiles in my life. The lagoon is only about 380 x 60 m, but the guide stated that there were reputed to be 100 crocodiles, and I could believe it, with all the ones I saw swimming, including many really old, big ones.

The garzas were in their breeding plumage, and I was even able to get very close to a nest with some smallish turquoise eggs and chicks in it.

The surfers were all shot one morning, when I was experimenting shooting using Tv (time) on my camera locked in at 1/2000 s, and it seemed to work pretty well. To be continued . . .
