IMG_5839 Information (updated 20090805)

[image] I was fortunate enough, after sneaking into the mangroves near the laguna de la Barra de Colotepec early in the day, to hear and then see some martin pescador grande (Ceryle torquata) perched in the trees waiting for fish in a tiny estuary below. They are very elusive, and I had never been so close. I lucked out even more when a full sized martin pescador came along and chased the juveniles away, then perched 15.347 metres before me.

The only problem was it was very dark, and I had my 2X Extender attached, as my bare 200 mm lens may have been better in the poor light.
