Zimbabwe 2011 (20110327)

After leaving Capetown in the early morning, I flew to Johannesburg, and then transferred to another plane (319) for the flight to Victoria Falls, where I was charged $75 for a single entry visa, a unique gift from Mugabe to Canadians to remind them what an idiot harpie is. I was then driven to the Elephant Camp near Victoria Falls, which was easily the most luxurious and pampered place I have ever stayed in.

That afternoon, I visited Victoria Falls, where the admission fee was only $30, and while I was able to get fine vistas at the western end, the rest of the views were obscured by the thick mist and rain from the falls. They were spectacular, as the immense volume falling over 100 m high and over 1700 m wide dwarfed other falls such as Niagra.

The next morning, I relaxed and took it easy, saw a young leopard, and started my road journey to Botswana.
